Oakville breeds alcoholics

Well I spent the weekend in Oakville. Which was a good thing, because i think i may have drank myself to death had I stayed in Montreal. Friday night had a nice dinner with the family and then went out with my brother and his friends, ended up at the bloody shark tank.
Sharkey's seems to have become (maybe it has always been) a place filled with drunk, depressed Oakvillians, that are either dying to get out of there, or have no idea how the fuck they ended up back there. As we get older everyone seems more friendly to one another, but you will always have some asshole starting a fight, and far too many more willing to jump in.
In my opinion Bruce Springsteen kicks ass, as long as its mainly limited to him an acoustic guitar. Adding more shit just takes away from the best part of his music, which is his voice.
The war in Iraq continues, thousands die. Most of us continue to not be bothered by any of this in the slightest. I always hoped that with the invention of the video camera, and the internet, eventually world peace would be established, because the horror of war would no longer be unavoidable. None of this, out of sight, out of mind crap. What is classified as reliable news media in this country makes me sick. Anyhow before i get carried away. Douglas Coupland has a new book out titled "Eleanor Rigby". The Globe and mail gave it an awful rating, but I've always thought most of their reviwers were snobby, self proclaimed intelectuals, who most likely are one of those boring ass people that are constantly the only person talking at a a table full of people and are in denial of their own sexuality, or pretend to just be friends with someone they are terribly in love with. Yes thats a weird, stupid assumption, but i dont care, fuck you.
Hawksley Workman is doing his xmas shows this December. Get tickets if you know what is good for you.

May we all bath in eachothers missery and happiness.
