fuck you mr.martin & concerts galore!

Well I opened up the newspaper this morning (Globe & Mail, Section A4) to read an article titled Missile Defence a Done Deal. The article goes on to discuss how the Liberal's have been trying to keep thins quiet around this. Apparently they figured it would be in the best interest of Canada to sign on to this deal, because the Americans will do it anyhow. Because this missile defence system only obtains to the first part of the IBM defence system, which only places missiles on land, Martin could avoid discussing STAR WARS. Though this does ultimatly lead to the weaponisation of space, it's not technically putting weapons in space right this second.

Though the BLOC and the NDP will be strongly against this, it seems that the deal is all ready done. Unless a major out cry from the public, Canada and the U.S. will begin its isolation from the rest of the world, and as a result will make us no different from the United States in the eyes of terrorists.

Support of this "security system" (which has yet to proove that it actually works) is telling the rest of the world that Canadians are no different from Americans, and that we share the same foriegn policy. This is a dangerous flag to be waving. As the U.S.'s #1 trading partner, and quite possibly its closest Ally, we should be expressing our discontent towards there current attitudes & policies. If you are one of the few Canadians that strongly believe the war in Iraq is/was just, and that there is nothing wrong with a country that spends more then half of its budget on the military, would like more tax breaks for the rich, then please do the rest of us, and yourself a favour. MOVE TO FUCKING AMERICA.

In other news, Kerry picks Edwards as his running mate. He's isn't a total loss, but he does support the death penalty. (he's from the south what the fuck do you expect) Kerry and a fucking bag of chips could win this election... you know, unless it is fixed again. Which wouldn't shock me. I'd vote for NADER, but we all know how much Americans love there two party system.

Ok LOLLAPALOOZA got cancelled, and i'm fucking thrilled. Tomorrow and 10am tickets go on sale for WILCO, and Modest Mouse. So i'm comming back to Toronto for the first week of August: Wilco, Modest Mouse, Curiosa (The Cure, Muse, Interpol, etc...) and then the Canadian Rocks on Toronto Island (The Constantines, Sam Roberts, Sloan, etc...) Should be a fun week!! oh fuck ya. If you are in University, I highly reccomend you take an American Foriegn Policy class, they are entertaining, informative, and frightning.
