i remember when
i remember when blogs first started to become popular. Oohh the excitement of it all. Interesting insightful, personal things from people you had never met before. Such a far more useful way of discussing politics then the traditional excessive posting in forums that were around before hand. (they still are around)
and since then... for the most part they've turned into shit more or less. Nothing more then a socially acceptable way of stalking strangers (or ex-bf/gf) and people trying to make their lives seem much more interesting to others then they are in reality.
So why did this happen? I'll tell you why. It became too easy and too accessible for the general public. Every asshole and his dog could simply create a blog. Once those fucking idiots on CNN and FOX news got their own blogs, it became painfully clear that "just because everyone is now capable of expressing their opinion, doesn't mean they actually have one, or one that anyone should bother listening to."
Though many a blog are still great, and rich in content, most seem to have become boring random blurbs, with nothing but still life shots, and pictures of the author's friends. Not that there is anything wrong with this, i'm just saying it's amazing how easily shit can be watered down, to the point where you can't tell what it orignally was.
(*note - the only time when a lot of people visted my blog is when I had pictures up. People only want to see themselves! How sad, and vain we all are. )
anyhow to all you other bloggers out there. Keep up with your witty comments, and keen observations, and if you've got nothing interesting to say, then just keep posting amateur porn... I know I will.
